John Morales was one of the pioneering mixers of the disco and early 80s eras, along with dudes like Tom Moulton, Francois K, Walter Gibbons and Larry Levan.
He mixed a bunch of the underground classics, including 'Barely Breaking Even' by the Universal Robot Band (Leroy Burgess and Co.), one of my all-time favourites.
The record label BBE (yep, named after the above song) has put out a couple of compilations of unreleased mixes by John Morales. The first one was a killer, and the second volume has just been released. There are a bunch of great tracks on it, including an extended remix of 'Young Hearts Run Free' (I'm looking at you, Blake). Well worth a listen. Check out John's website hurrrrr.
Also worth noting, he has put up a bunch of free acetate mixes if you look hard enough. Quality is average and some of them are a bit wacky, but well worth a listen. The extended mix of Lady Bug in particular is great.
Here's a promo remix that Morales put up in tribute to the late great Loletta:
