Groovy Expeditions

Hey Bang Gang,

Been wanting to share my friend Chris' work for a bit. He has two projects I'll be posting here. The first is his band, Food Pyramid, a collective of sorts whose music would most easily be classified as Krautrock incorporating elements of house, jazz and various other electronic based music. Though such descriptions are not my strong suit so don't place too much value on that half-assed classifcation.

I am a big fan of their tape III as well as the Mango Sunrise vinyl, though that could be due to the fact that those are the albums I've listened to most. Regardless it's worth throwing their stuff on (they also have a soundcloud if that is your prefered format) and being swept away, its an adventure.

Chris' solo stuff is called 555 and explores similar realms as Food Pyramid though perhaps a bit more ambient. As he describes it: "[555] is dedicated to exploring the tension between new age synthesizer ambience and the kinetic momentum of electronic percussion." It's really beautiful. He's a super smart dude with a pretty awesome output that extends far beyond these projects.

I really love the tracks Rainbow Death and Killing Joke.  Hope you enjoy!

Jonas Rathsman

First off I'd like to express my extreme gratitude for being included in all this. I'm ridiculously giddy going through the wealth of amazingness yawl been collecting for a few years now. Honored to be here.

Any gaggers who've suffered me at the helm of an ipod in the past year or so will recognise Jonas Rathsman, a pretty common choice for colin. Candy boogie.
